Summary
The Budget Act of 2019 provides a one-time $20 million allocation to the judicial branch to augment the Equal Access Fund for legal services to low-income persons for landlord-tenant issues to prevent homelessness. On July 17, 2019, the Judicial Council approved allocating these funds to the State Bar, which distributes the funding to eligible legal services agencies. This report lists the legal services agencies receiving funding, the amount each will receive, and the services that will be provided with the $14.5 million in formula funds and $5 million in discretionary grants.
