Summary
Welfare and Institutions Code section 903.47 requires the Judicial Council
to establish a program to collect reimbursement from the person responsible
for the cost of counsel appointed to represent a parent or child in a juvenile
dependency proceeding. As part of establishing that program, the council
adopted California Rules of Court, Appendix F (Guidelines for the Juvenile
Dependency Counsel Collections Program). The Family and Juvenile Law
Advisory Committee recommends amending Appendix F to remove references
to a superseded method of calculating the court cost of providing dependency-
related legal services. The proposal would also reformat the appendix to
conform more closely to the style of the rules of court and make additional
technical and stylistic changes.
